Good read. I can relate to a lot as I started to dj last year. I do vinyl only but me and my partner play a wide variety of old and new dance music. It’s a struggle, especially being in a small city, with no clubs…. Only bars. I fear that most people just want mainstream edm/pop music and I end up feeling like an “over qualified” fool. I just want to stick to my instincts and curate MY sound but the pressure to conform is strong… I think there is a fun balance one can find there … or at least I hope

Hi!!! So great to connect (How did you find this by the way I am so curious)! I am totally with you about the small city thing and the lack of venues. With the whole pandemic, it added a lot of pressure to venues to stay alive and making sure programming is still happening not just for the selected few but the wider audience.

I am totally supportive of you sticking to your artistic visions and ideas! I think as long as if you have a solid idea(s) behind a set or a project it will ultimately attract people and a "listenership." People are nerds — and they will seek out a good "product" regardless where they are. But I am only fairly new but hey I am so glad we connected here! What's your Instagram and/or soundcloud?

@bobby.metronome on ig, you’ll find my SoundCloud on there.

I was just trying to find house music blog and I found u lol. I heard u mention nts radio … holy cow it’s my life blood!

I also do a radio show on a local community station.

U should look into doing that it’s a great way to connect with other people constantly searching for new and obscure musical gems.
